Synopsis
Rancher Destry Reeves is your typical country boy; he believes in hard work and the easy life. None of which he recognises in Amelia Highsmith.When a chance encounter involving a cow, a truck and a dark Texan night puts the two on a collision course, it's not long before the fireworks begin and the simple life is turned upside down.
The last thing Amelia expects is for a brute of a cowboy to get in the way of her new life. She's left behind a world of high class dinners and city lights in an effort to escape a life she never wanted. Amelia finds herself in a world so far removed from home that it becomes impossible to break free without finding herself first.

My Thoughts
Amelia Highsmith is privileged. She was born to a family with money, and had been dictated to her whole life - what to wear, how to act, even who to marry. Amelia returns from work early one night and catches her fiance cheating on her. Finally having a reason to get away from her boring life, she leaves.Whilst driving through the country Amelia encounters a cow in the middle of the road, causing her to swerve and crash.
Destry Reeves lost his parents young. Raised on his Grandparent's ranch, he was brought up with old fashioned manners and hard work. After receiving a call about one of their cows on the road, Destry and his brother head out to retrieve it and mend the broken fence.
Arriving at the cow, he is more than surprised to see a beautiful woman punching his cattle. There is an instant attraction between Amelia and Destry.
Lola Stark's writing is fantastic. The story was engaging, believable and addictive. It grabbed my attention from the beginning. I instantly connected with all the characters. I loved Destry, his Grandparents and his brothers and sister. They had such a strong family bond, and were happy welcoming a stranger into their home. I loved Amelia for finally going after something because it's what SHE wants.
I absolutely LOVED this book. Destry was a quick, light read that had me smiling, laughing and brought me to tears.
